Now where do you start with one of the best component manufacturers in the world? With the kit that is not yet on sale of course!
The cycling industry is awash with pedals, a lot of which are from the same factory. But there are some that just stand out from the crowd and once Hope release their take on a flat pedal I think there will be one hell of a queue for them. As ever Hope products are beautifully machined and those marks of precision milling and machining just make you weep a little.
The pedals from Hope are no different. Whether or not it is intended, the machined finish looks grippy and confidence inspiring and set to surely add to the grip, along with the 10 pins on either side. Looking like they will be available in Hope’s luscious anodised colours they will suit any bike out there. The thickness of the pedals seem bang on trend too, along with a nice shape to deflect the rocks. Judging by the size of the bearing seat on the thread side I reckon they will be more than up for the UK’s mud and grime – just the same as any other Hope component.
The DH cassette, due next year, is a new move from Hope to re-invent the standard freehub/cassette. It has been well covered since Eurobike last year but the sample on display looked top banana and Hope recognises the fact you downhiller’s and 4xer’s don’t need 10 speed, or even 9 speed. Looks to be another winner!
Hope stems… hmmmmm. They just look so purposeful and made for the job. They need no introduction or words and you can buy these ones!
